Common uses for small containers
The compact footprint of these units makes them versatile for various urban and industrial environments:
- Garden Storage: A more secure and durable alternative to traditional timber sheds.
- Site Tool Vaults: Secure 6ft and 8ft units for overnight tool protection on construction sites.
- Chemical Storage: Specialised 6ft and 8ft COSHH units for hazardous materials.
- Pop-up Retail: Our 8ft cladded units are perfect for coffee kiosks and event stalls.
- Offices: Our 10ft modular offices provide workspace for one person in tight locations.
Delivery and site access
Small containers are typically delivered using rigid hiab vehicles. A standard delivery truck requires a minimum width of 10ft and vertical clearance of 15ft. Unlike 40ft units, small containers can often be positioned in more restricted residential areas. Ensure the ground surface is firm and level (concrete, tarmac, or compacted gravel) to prevent the unit from sinking or the doors from binding. For more details on logistics, visit our about us page.

Frequently asked questions
Are small containers suitable for international shipping?
Generally, 6ft and 8ft units are not ISO-certified for sea freight and are primarily used for domestic storage. 10ft units can be shipped but often require being "slotted" or joined to form a 20ft footprint. See our faq for details.
Can I choose the colour of my small container?
One-trip small units are typically stocked in Cobalt Blue or Forest Green. Container Projects Ltd can provide custom repainting to any RAL code upon request.
